Schoolwide News

BSI Post Office
The 2nd grade BSI Post Office is starting next week.
Students can mail letters and postcards to their friends, siblings, and teachers at BSI. Just like at the US Post Office, postage stamps must be purchased in order to “mail” the letters.
Postage stamps are 5 cents each and pre-stamped post-cards are 25 cents each.
It is a fantastic interdisciplinary second-grade unit with a big culminating project of opening and running a post office.
Picture Retakes and Sibling Photos

October pictures are ready for distribution. They will be backpacked to go home on Friday. If you would like to pick up your picture instead of backpacking, please email amoshura@bsi686.org

Sibling photos and retakes are available online for viewing as of 12/5/2018.

STEM Lab

The scaffolding is scheduled to be installed towards the end of this week. We are all very excited as we are one more step closer to having a STEM Lab!

Lunch Clubs

Students that are not attending their lunch clubs will be dropped the week of the 17th. Please speak with your child to make sure they are attending their clubs if they still want to remain there.  New signup will be circulated towards the end of December so that students that did not get in their first choice can sign up.

School Loop

There is a new section in School Loop called “Student Code of Conduct”. It will be used as a communication system or gauge for parents. We will communicate items that one would usually communicate at the end of the school day during dismissal. Since we are a commuter school, most of the time we do not get a chance to touch base with parents at the end of the day.  This Student Code of Conduct section will help bridge the gap so that parents would be more aware of how their child is doing in all other non-academic areas.

Grade Level Morning Meetings

Our grade specific morning meetings on Tuesdays have been going great. Last week we met with 8th-grade families and the one before with 5th. We are looking forward to all the other grades. Please check the calendar to see when your grade meeting is scheduled for. You should have also received a google invite.
