Click here to sign-up.———————————————————————————Fine Arts After School (Grade 8 only)Wednesdays 2:50 to 4:30 (starting September 25th)The goal of the class is to create a diverse body of work for a portfolio for admission. In addition, there is preparatory work for the High school drawing exam, and in some cases, a written essay. We are committed to supporting our Fine Arts Elective students and are happy to announce that we are creating a Fine Arts Club after school. (Grade 7 students have an elective during the school hours to begin their work on this). Thursdays from 2:50 to 4:30 from September 20th through December 14th in order to fully compose their portfolios and practice for the HS admission exam.

Musical Theater After School (Grades 6-8)Fridays 3 to 4:30 (Starting September 27th)Welcome to BSI’s seventh annual musical: The Little Mermaid JR. Students will participate in a yearlong project focusing on: acting, singing, and dancing. At the end of the school year, students will get to showcase their performance for multiple ticketed audiences. Come, join us for a year of artistic exploration and fun. Debate After School (Grades 5-8)Tuesday 3- 4:30 novices (Starting September 24th)Wednesday 3- 4:30 advanced (Starting September 25th)American Debate League Club will be running after school. Anyone interested in debate and public speaking should join. |
Math Team (Grades 6-8)Thursdays 3-4:30We will practice weekly and participate in math competitions around the city. You must show continued good standing to participate in competitions. This means turning in all assignments and following class expectations throughout the day. If you have any questions, please email msinger@bsi686.org.

Faculty from the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Partners Program will be leading all the classes! We are offering students the opportunity to learn flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion, in individual beginner sectionals OR for experienced players to participate in a combined band.
Xposure Monday through Friday (Grades 5-8)
My Name is Joshua Powell and I am the new Program Director for the Xposure Club X After school program at BSI. Xposure BSI programming will begin on Monday, September 16th at 2:50PM. With the new school year right around the corner, the Xposure team has worked very hard to come up with new programming to inspire our student interns in a brand new way that’s fun and engaging. The activities that we are offering this year are Yoga/ Tai Chi, Fashion, Animation, 3-D Printing, Art, Film/ Broadcasting/ Vlogging. Xposure has three cycles, at the end of each cycle, students will have the option to re-enroll in the course to dive deeper into the concepts presented or broaden their horizons by tackling a new course. This gives students a way to express what peaks their interest and gives them the opportunity to make their own choices.
